One can purchase traditional far eastern medicines and mixtures to help promote the natural growth, healing, and strengthening of one's body. As well as general goods and curiosities picked or made by the other estate members or affiliates.If you feel something is wrong with your aether or body, you can also seek out a proper consultation first before purchasing remedies! Don't have a single gil to your name? You are more than welcome to trade your own wares or services instead. Just make sure you know what you're offering first...
| Why traditional/herbal medicine? |
Unlike most potions, ethers, remedies, and panacea that are mass produced on the markets, the medicines and remedies offered at Shingetsu are made for everyday consumption to naturally strengthen one's body overtime. They are more akin to health supplements, vitamins, and other consumables that would aid in a healthy lifestyle.The goal is to strengthen the body and health in a more preventive way rather than a reactive way like those found in the common marketplace. Make no mistake, they can be used to help recover from more serious ailments as well, but it would take much longer.Where these remedies lose in matters of quickness, they make up for in reach where even magic cannot help one's body. As well as accessibility, even more common folk can afford such treatments.

None can deny that aetherial healing is a quick and convenient way to bolster one's natural recovery, but it cannot cure what the body itself can't. Criminal :
Not everyone uses "crimes" (3rd party programs aka xlplugins/mare/penumbra/glamourer/etc), and that is perfectly fine for us. That being said, do not pressure others into such mediums. Crimes are still considered 3rd party programs after all. You do not need to have such to RP with us. You are welcome to express your character through art, media on discord, carrd, etc.
Lore Plausible :
We are not lore strict, however we are lore compliant. If you can creatively make something that makes sense within the game's established lore and setting (racial civilization, voidsents, eikons, DoH/DoL questline, etc) then you are welcome to. We are aware some bits of lore are open ended and much goes unanswered. However, if something is stated impossible or otherwise by any of the following; game, interviews, sources that have been officially given/written by SE, etc.--then we will follow such.If there is nothing in the lore that contradicts it and there's space in the lore for it to exist, then it's up to you as the creator of the character to convince others your character is plausible within the universe. We are not trying to prevent your creativity, but keep everyone on the same page during events.

Again we are lore aligned, that means characters must fit within the established game lore. It's much more forgiving than you think! For any reason you feel your character does not fit into the game lore we kindly ask you REMEMBER AND RESPECT THE SETTING. Please remember that just because there are no players around that does not mean there are no established NPCs around.The Shingetsu establishment is located within the Mist which is governed by Limsa Lominsa. It is subject to said city-state's rules such as;
- The Trident [No crew would defraud another of its loot, Rob a fellow Lominsan, or Sell other people into slavery.] *
- Smuggling/Avoiding Inspection of Mealvaan’s Gate of/for following illegal/outlawed/restricted; herbs, weapons, items from foreign shores, species not native to Vylbrand, or forbidden tomesand monitoring from enforcement such as; Yellow Jackets, Rogue's Guild, Maelstrom, and the many pirates ready to chuck you under the bus for $$$ or just because they don't like you.
IC Actions = IC Consequences :
Shingetsu is a Neutral establishment. That means you are free to try peddling services of assassination, red light, host, espionage, and likewise to the establishment itself--but remember that such claims IC will have IC consequences should they arise for whatever reason.We will accept tasteful dark themes.Please always be aware of the setting and location. Limsa Lominsa is a cut throat city-state of pirates where NPCs even tell you to keep your head down unless you want to lose it. Act accordingly!
God Moding / Power Gaming :
Is not allowed. Please try to keep everything open ended for those you are roleplaying with to actually react to unless spoken of before hand in /tell.Please note that if someone states their character is attempting to knock someone's weapon from their hand, is successful, and you respond with they lob X's arm off without consulting them first, that is considered a breach in the rule as that was not the attempted outcome.Write your trials together!
Consent :
Please be sure all roleplay is done with consent. If you face a situation where your character would not ask IN CHARACTER then you must ask OUT OF CHARACTER. Do not 'puppet' anyone else's character. Just because you attempt to do something then tell someone to roll DOES NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE mean they have consented unless they follow through.Dice are an extension to CONSENSUAL circumstances.NOT something you can do to force someone to do something they do not want to in the first place. No Meta Gaming :
Using any source of OOC information your character would typically not have is considered meta gaming. Even if you know what direction would be the correct one for the story--please stay in character. Act according to your character's knowledge, not your out of character knowledge.
Retcons are not allowed within our storylines :
If for some reason your character suddenly ceases to exist for you. It does not mean they cease to exist for us. Please do your best to refrain from retconing. We personally do not allow retcons here unless you have a very good reason.

Please do not roleplay as established NPCs (such as Scions) or The Warrior of Light (MSQ equivalent) here. Nor characters connected to such individuals (ex. Y'sthola's armcandy). If for some reason you plan to do so, then remember the setting and be vague about it.You may roleplay as A "Warrior of Light" (AKA 'a hero'), and you may even have your version of echo (weaker than the WoL's that complies with echo examples described in canon lore). However you shouldn't expect everyone to know your character even if you're some 'local hero' from some settlement over the mountain tops across the valley.

However, being a mercantile, they carry other general goods and oddities as well supplied by allies or other third parties.Unlike most potions, ethers, remedies, and panacea one might find in the markets meant to target a specific ailment, the traditional medicines of the far east and herbal medicines aim to help naturally strengthen the body. These herbal mixtures can be used in the form of pills, drinks, and even used in cooking food and are best paired with healthy life choices. Think of them as herbal health supplements.While not as quick and targeted as the momentary effects of Aetherial or Alchemical treatments, Herbal Medicines aim improve health, prevent disease, and eventually treat illnesses that even spells like Esuna cannot cure.These herbal mixtures can be used in the form of pills, drinks, and even used in cooking food and are best paired with healthy life choices. While not as quick as Aetherial or Alchemical treatments, traditional medicines provide a way to not only recover, but strength one permanently long-term.

Free Company membership is NOT required to participate in our events!As stated above, thank you for your interest! If you wish to join us for casual roleplay and one shot missions, you are not required a 'membership' with the company. When we say 'Membership', think of it as more of an 'Employee ID card' type of thing. Members of Viatorum Domus obtain more specific rewards relating to the company with such a card. That being said, the Google Application Form that can be found below is to be answered IN CHARACTER. More details can be found on the form!Why become a member? Maybe you just need a new home away from home? Or you're looking for more work. Maybe you just want to gain more benefits from the free company (like free healthcare lol). However, to become a member one must be active in quests and missions. Affiliates are NOT required to host and run events if they do not wish to.As the immediate above states, you do not need to host missions or quests for us, but it is nice if you want to do such to give our own writers a break! Affiliates are to fill out the Google Application Form IN CHARACTER just as members are to.Why be an Affiliate? Why not?! You do not have to join us of course more directly, but if you need an in character reason then simply look to the basics of our company.
